PSHE

Why is PSHE so Important?

PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) education is a crucial part of every child’s education, underpinning all aspects of school life. It enables children to explore vital information about themselves and the diverse world around them. At Meath Green Infant School, we provide a PSHE curriculum that is broad, balanced and adaptable to meet the needs of our school community.

How do we Teach PSHE?

Using our PSHE curriculum, JIGSAW, we aim to promote children’s knowledge, self-esteem, emotional wellbeing, reflection and resilience through our weekly PSHE lessons. These lessons include circle time, discussion, practical activities and challenges.  Alongside this, we have the flexibility, when occasions arise, to teach PSHE because of an issue/s that arises.

By the Time Children Leave Us . . .

Children in our school learn how to form and maintain worthwhile and positive relationships and understand the importance of respect for themselves and others within school, the community and beyond. They develop key skills including decision-making, good communication, and self-regulation strategies. Children can use and build on these skills as they continue their educational journey beyond Meath Green Infant School.
